Overview

RepairIndexKit ("the App", "we", "us") is a Shopify theme app extension that displays the French repairability index (indice de réparabilité), product category and a link to the scoring sheet on a store's product pages, using information the merchant enters in their own Shopify product metafields. The App runs entirely inside the merchant's theme as a client-side block in the shopper's browser.

Information We Collect

The App does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal information from merchants or their customers. Specifically, the App:

• Does not collect names, emails, addresses, or any customer personal data;
• Does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics;
• Does not create user profiles or track behaviour across sites;
• Does not send any data to the developer or to third-party servers.

How the App Works

On installation, the App creates four product metafield definitions in the merchant's store (using Shopify's Admin API) so the merchant can enter repairability data conveniently; this is a one-time setup action and no product data is read or stored by the developer. The App's theme block reads those metafields at page-render time and displays them. All display processing happens in the visitor's browser; no data leaves the merchant's store.

Data Retention

The App stores no data on the developer's servers. Access tokens are used transiently during installation to create the metafield definitions and are not persisted. Any product information stays inside the merchant's own Shopify store.

Third Parties

The App does not share data with any third party, because it does not collect any.

Security

Because the App stores no data and runs as a client-side theme block, there is no separate data store to secure. The App's backend endpoints are served over HTTPS.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for use by merchants and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

GDPR & CCPA

The App is designed to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). As the App does not collect or process personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. We also honour Shopify's mandatory privacy webhooks (customers/data_request, customers/redact, and shop/redact); because no data is stored, these requests are acknowledged and require no further action.
